ABSTRACT
Tumpuk
Winanti, 2012. Application Guided Discovery Method to Improve Learning Result of
Students on Material Derivatives of Algebraic Functions in the Class XI IPA-3
SMA Negeri 2 Palu. Skripsi, Mathematics Education

Keywords: Guided Discovery Method,
Learning Result, Derivative of Algebraic Functions
The main
problem in this study is learning students result of class XI IPA-3 SMA Negeri
2 Palu on material derivative of algebraic functions is still low. There are
several things that cause these problems, among which are lack of students
conceptual understanding of the derivative function. In addition, students are
less actively involved in learning so that students' interest in learning is
low and they have acquired material can quickly be forgotten. To improve
students learning outcomes in the material derivative of algebraic functions,
the researcher applied learning using guided discovery method.
Formulation
of the problem in this skripsi is how the guided discovery method can improve the
students learning result on material derivatives algebraic functions in the
class XI IPA-3 SMA Negeri 2 Palu.
To answer
these problems, researcher conducted a class action. The design of this research
refers to the model developed by Kemmis and Mc Taggart consisting of four
components, namely planning, acting, observing and reflecting.
Data collected in this research is in the form of data obtained from
interviews, observations of activities of teacher (researcher) and students
activities in the cycle I and cycle II, and the results of tests on a cycle I
and cycle II.
Based on the
results of the research, found that: (1) Activities of students and teacher in
learning of the material Derivatives of Algebraic Functions in Class XI IPA-3
SMA Negeri 2 Palu performing well with a success rate of 85.28% (students) and
83.53% (teacher), (2) The percentage of completeness of classics in cycle I is 54.17%
and the percentage of completeness of classics on the cycle II is 95.83%, so the learning outcomes of students
has increased by 41.66% in the classical style.
